Sứ mệnh của Ủy Ban Cứu Người Vượt Biển (UBCNVB) là để giúp người tị nạn và người di dân gốc Việt đạt được ước vọng có một đời sống tự do và nhân phẩm đươc tôn trọng, bằng cách giúp các cộng đồng Việt có khả năng tự tổ chức và hoạt động thật hữu hiệu để tiến đến tình trạng tự lập tự cường.là một tổ chức có tầm hoạt động toàn quốc và sát cánh với các cộng đồng qua 14 văn phòng đặt tại nhiều tiểu bang. Từ 1980 đến nay, một trong 10 người Mỹ gốc Việt đã được UBCNVB giúp lúc họ còn ở Việt Nam, hoặc lênh đênh trên biển cả, hoặc trong trại tị nạn, hoặc sau khi đặt chân lên đất Mỹ. UBCNVB có nhiều dịch vụ để giúp cá nhân, gia đình và cộng đồng.

Boat People SOS (BPSOS) is a national community-based organization whose mission is to assist Vietnamese refugees and immigrants in their search for a life in liberty and dignity. Since 1980, one in 10 Vietnamese Americans has received assistance from BPSOS while still in Vietnam, on the high seas, in a refugee camp, or after arriving in the United States. BPSOS provides a web of services to support individuals, families, and communities.
